Last week, the US Supreme Court issued a decision upholding the constitutionality of the Universal Service Fund (USF), which serves as the funding mechanism for the E-Rate program—the federal government’s long-running program that helps provide low-cost, affordable internet services to public institutions such as schools and libraries. This decision does not necessarily mark the end of all future litigation about, let alone changes to, the E-Rate program.
In response to this recent ruling, the Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband (SHLB) Coalition will be hosting a webinar on July 7 at 1 PM PDT to explore the implications of this recent court decision on the E-Rate program.
Typically, many presentations from SHLB are restricted to members only; however, this upcoming webinar is open to the public. It presents a valuable opportunity for anyone interested in understanding the future of the E-Rate program.
