CPUC hearing re high natural gas prices during winter 2022/23

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold an online hearing to discuss high natural gas prices this winter. According to the CPUC’s published notice, the hearing will examine the causes and impacts of recent high natural gas prices in California, including:

  1. How natural gas prices work in the California context
  2. Understanding interstate gas pipeline operations and impacts of outages
  3. Impacts on the electric market from high natural gas prices; and
  4. Strategies to mitigate high natural gas and electric market prices

The hearing will be held on Tue Feb 7, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM PST. The hearing will be webcast at www.adminmonitor.com/ca/cpuc and will be accessible by phone at (800)857-1917, passcode 1767567#.

The webcast will be recorded and archived for future viewing on the CPUC site.
